The A-B-C's of the Child, Youth & Family Enhancement Act

Legal rights, programs and resources for families.

The ABCs of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act outlines the intricate system in place for children in government care. This is a popular workshop due to emotional challenges for those involved combined with the complicated structure of the Act. This workshop maps out the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act for professionals as well as members of the public who want a better understanding of the their situations. Those who attend the workshop are usually frontline family support workers and families who are involved with, or at risk of becoming involved with, Alberta Children and Youth Services, who oversee and execute the Act. The legislation was passed in 2004.
